  • Manual Therapy

    Manual Therapy

    The ‘hands-on’ approach, sometimes referred to as ‘bodywork’. This is what separates the Bespoke Treatments physical therapists from others. It will be the premier method that we will adopt to help remove restrictions in tissue. Along with removing these restrictions, manual therapy will promote relaxation, decrease pain, improve flexibility, strengthen tissue, and help improve movement patterns. Manual therapy will consist of soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, stretching, strengthening, massage and other techniques.

    POST OPERATIVE REHAB

    These programs follow specific post-surgical protocols focusing on the individuals specific surgery details as laid out by your surgeon. Once your Bespoke Treatment has got you back to managing your every day activity in a pain free manor, your program will start to focus on addressing the imbalances, that may have led to the injury. The Bespoke Treatment physical therapist will work to ensure that you get back to your passion feeling stronger, more balanced and healthier than ever.
  • STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY TRAINING

    STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY TRAINING

    Our Bespoke Treatment Physical Therapists are all Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) so whether you have strength deficits or decreased mobility in an area (muscle or joint), we will design a program that will address these problems while simultaneously decreasing pain and removing movement disfunction. Our Bespoke Treatments employ a variety of techniques (progressive resistive exercise, isometric, plyometric, electrical stimulation assisted) to improve your overall strength. Regarding flexibility, we use all forms of treatment necessary to improve the mobility of your joints or tissues.
  • SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION

    SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION

    A manual technique performed to break up any adhesions that are causing restrictions in the body. These adhesions can consist of fibrous tissue (scar tissue), inelastic tissue, tissue fluids or any other tissue that is misaligned. The goal of this treatment is to realign the tissue and remove restrictions.
  • POSTURAL TRAINING

    POSTURAL TRAINING

    The focus of this treatment is to identify, then correct any postural problems that you may have. These problems can negatively influence muscle function and structural alignment throughout the entire body, which can cause impairments and movement related problems that ultimately lead to injury, disfunction and pain.
  • Electrical Stimulation

    Electrical Stimulation

    E-Stimulation uses numerous electrical currents (pre-mod, interferential, TENS, high-volt, low-volt, micro, Russian, NMES) to stimulate nerves, reduce pain, decrease swelling, stimulate muscles, increase blood flow, improve circulation, prevent scar tissue, and help wound healing.
  • MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE

    MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE

    A highly effective manual technique that focuses on applying pressure to myofascial (fascial system - connective tissue) restrictions in order to restore efficient movement patterns and decrease pain.
  • PROPRIOCEPTIVE TRAINING

    PROPRIOCEPTIVE TRAINING

    Proprioception is an automatic response of the central nervous system regarding position, motion and equilibrium. Balance training and other types of training will help establish that connection between muscles, joints and nerves. This will help the body to function far more efficiently in everyday and sporting activities.
  • Ultrasound

    Ultrasound

    This is a therapeutic modality that uses sound waves which pass through the skin to cause a vibration of the local tissues. Ultrasound can be used on acute or chronic injuries to relax tissue, break down scar tissue, promote blood flow, and relieve pain and/ or inflammation. It may also be used to heat a muscles prior to treatment or exercise.
  • Muscle Energy techniques

    Muscle Energy techniques

    This technique is based on the theory of reciprocal inhibition: the muscles on one side of a joint will relax when the muscles on the other side of the joint contact. This is done through application of manual pressure by the physical therapist. It can be used to increase range of motion, lengthen muscles in spasm or shortened and strengthen muscles.
  • PROPRIOCEPTIVE NEUROMUSCULAR FACILITATION (PNF)

    PROPRIOCEPTIVE NEUROMUSCULAR FACILITATION (PNF)

    PNF is a form of manual therapy that uses the body’s proprioceptive system to inhibit or facilitate a muscle. PNF incorporates stretching and contraction of the muscle that is being targeted.

    GAME READY®

    This is a form of cyrotherapy that combines cold therapy and active compression to treat injuries and for post-operative recovery. The Game Ready® will simultaneously delver pneumatic compression and cold therapy to the area being treated in order to decease swelling and promote healing.

    MOTION AND BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS

    Biomechanics is the study of human motion. By finding biomechanical faults, we can help treat an injury, prevent future injuries and help you move more efficiently. The Bespoke Treatments therapist will perform an analysis for all motions and any sports, including (but not limited to!) running, golf, tennis, ballet, baseball, basketball, cycling, rowing or what ever else it is that fires your passion!

    COMPEX®

    Compex® can be described as ‘Your Intelligent Training Partner’. It IS an electrostimulation system that can be used to promote active recovery, muscle relaxation, decrease pain, or muscle strength training.

  • Sciatica

    Sciatica

    Sciatica pain presents as tingling or numbness down the legs, often caused by piriformis syndrome, herniated or bulging discs, stenosis or degenerative disc disease. It also causes an increased range of motion of the lumbar spine, leading to instability.
  • Patella Femoral Syndrome (PFS), a.k.a. Runner’s Knee, a.k.a. Aaaggghh!

    Patella Femoral Syndrome (PFS), a.k.a. Runner’s Knee, a.k.a. Aaaggghh!

    Knee pain that is usually felt around the kneecap (patella). It often shows up out of nowhere when running. Pain worsens with running, walking down steps or sitting for a long time. Being stuck at a desk or going to the movies can be just as painful as your long run.
  • Shoulder Impingement/ Rotator Cuff Injuries

    Shoulder Impingement/ Rotator Cuff Injuries

    Usually experienced in the outer part of the shoulder, this pain comes from repetitive overhead motions like swimming and tennis.
  • Lower back pain

    Lower back pain

    Radiating or shooting pain in the low back can occur with any number of activities, from running to swimming to yoga to strength training. It can also be caused by a disc issue or scoliosis. The cause of pain may ultimately not be in the back, but only an evaluation with a medical professional can provide clarity. Chronic low back pain can be very frustrating; we’ll find the root cause..
  • Shin Splints, a.k.a. Anterior Tibialis Tendonitis

    Shin Splints, a.k.a. Anterior Tibialis Tendonitis

    Pain felt on the front (anterior) or inside (medial) part of the shin. Pain may start at the beginning of a run, then fade. Or, it may get worse while running and stick around after you stop. That’s definitely not OK. Don’t run again until you’re evaluated by a medical professional. If you’re using orthotics to mask the root cause of shin splints, please, come see us.
  • Plantar Fascitis

    Plantar Fascitis

    Usually worse in the morning, this “first step” pain is felt in the foot, typically along the arch or in the heel of the foot.
  • Achilles Tendinitis

    Achilles Tendinitis

    Pain, swelling or thickening of the achilles tendon. Generally painful with walking, going up and down stairs, or calf/heel raises.
  • Iliotibial Band Syndrome

    Iliotibial Band Syndrome

    ITB pain is felt on the outside (lateral aspect) of the knee that gradually increases with running. A clicking sound may be heard, and pain is sometimes described as stabbing. It can get so bad that runners are forced to hobble with a straight leg. We see ITB pain frequently in runners newly increasing their distance, particularly among the ladies.
  • Posterior Tibialis Tendonitis

    Posterior Tibialis Tendonitis

    Often mistaken for an achilles problem, pain exhibits in the side or back of the lower leg. New orthotics for over-pronators and running in new shoes with less support are frequent culprits for causing this kind of pain. If you’ve taken up “barefoot” running recently or are trying out minimalist shoes, and are experiencing pain, this could be the reason.

    These issues with the hip are often the result of anatomical abnormalities (is one of your legs longer than the other?), or decreased range of motion secondary to capsule or labral tightness.
