Thoracic spine mobility is important in maintaining proper alignment for proper posture and optimal athletic performance. When the thoracic spine is not as mobile as it should be, it can lead to compensations which can end in injury in the long term, such as shoulder, neck, or even lower back pain.
The TRX is a valuable tool in order to help mobilize your thoracic spine, as shown in the video.
– Keep your core tight as you bring the TRX handles above your head
– You will feel a stretch through the latissimus dorsi (along your armpits) or even through your upper back
– Avoid arching through the lower back
You can then squeeze the elbows back and down to help mobilize the scapula and thoracic spine. Keep the core tight through this movement!
